Disposable Diaphragm Domes

  • Disposable Diaphragm Domes are devices used for monitoring & recording the pressures of the body’s internal fluid systems (blood, urine flow).
  • The usage of the dome prevents blood from contacting the surface of the reusable transducer connected to the patient monitor.
  • Important components of the pressure dome includes the main dome body, the male & female luer connectors & a membrane diaphragm which snugly fits onto the reusable pressure transducer.
  • This diaphragm acts as an interface between saline fluid & the transducer which picks up the pressure wave from the arterial/venous blood, which it subsequently converts to an electrical impulse which is displayed as the systolic/diastolic pressures on the patient monitor.
